Philadelphia vocalist Kevin Valentine & the Steve Rudolph Trio will join us this Wednesday!

About the artists:

Kevin Valentine sings & swings with an easy effortless style that lets a piece tell its own story using a variety of rhythms, melodies & harmonies.  Philadelphia based, he has worked with larry McKenna, Bootsy Barnes, Gerald Veasley and many others – this is Kevin’s first time performing at Englewood.

Amy Shook is one of the most in-demand acoustic bassists in the mid-Atlantic, coveted for her huge sound and infectious, driving groove. In addition to being a premier performing and recording artist, a multi-instrumentalist (acoustic bass, electric bass, violin, viola, and cello), she is an accomplished composer.  Amy co-leads the all-women group - the 3D Jazz Trio (3Divas), with drummer Sherrie Maricle and pianist Jackie Warren. In 2017, 3D’s eagerly awaited debut CD, simply titled 3Divas, was met with widespread critical acclaim, landing a four-star review in Downbeat Magazine and inclusion on Downbeat’s year end “Best of 2020 albums.” Amy has performed with Maurice Hines in “Tappin Thru Life”, Lionel Hampton, Ali Ryerson, Wycliffe Gordon, the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, Hubert Laws and Kurt Elling, to name a few.

Frank Russo is an in demand performer, recording artist and educator who currently resides in Maryland and teaches at Towson University. Raised in the NYC area, Frank was steeped in the rich musical heritage of the jazz legends at an early age and carriers on the legacy of a musical family.  He has performed with Dr Lonnie Smith, Denis DiBlasio, The Coasters, Frankie Lane and many more.  Frank is a Summit Records Recording Artist whose recordings have gained national recognition and praise from Downbeat, Jazztimes and Modern Drummer along with others.  Frank is proud to exclusively perform on maple drums designed by Keith Larsen (Maryland Drum Company), Bosphorus Cymbals and Vic Firth Products.…
