About the artists:

Eddie Severn
With a performing career spanning more than 25 years, British trumpeter Eddie Severn is notable in his ability to adapt to many musical styles. From his extensive work as a lead trumpet player in the commercial music world to his innovative performances as a soloist playing his own compositions, Eddie is equally at home playing rock, jazz and classical styles. Eddie has performed with many well-known musicians including Maria Schneider, Phil Woods Big Band, Dave Leibman Big Band, The Temptations, Kenny Rogers, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and the English Symphony Orchestra. In addition to being the former lead trumpet player with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra for 6 years, he has also performed and recorded music for television, radio and theatre, as well as on numerous pop sessions and touring shows.   Severn composes music for his own groups and freelances as a solo performer and clinician, spending time both in Europe and the United States. As an educator, Severn has extensive experience teaching both jazz studies and trumpet. He has been on the faculty at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland, and the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music in England.

 Tony Marino
An accomplished bassist from Northeast PA, Tony has been in the heralded Dave Leibman Quartet for 20 years, recording and touring the world.  He also has toured and recorded with opera star Betty Buckley, saxophonists Phil Woods, Al Cohn and Zoot Sims, drummer Bill Goodwin, and pianists Mose Allison & Hal Galper.

Phil Haynes
A 25 year veteran New York based artist, Phil Haynes is featured on more than 65 LP, DVD and CD releases by numerous American and European record labels.  His recording credentials include many of the seminal musicians of this generation: saxophonists Anthony Braxton, Ellery Eskelin, and David Liebman; trumpeters Dave Douglas, Herb Robertson, and Paul Smoker; bassists Mark Dresser, Ken Filiano, and Drew Gress; keyboard artists David Kikoski, Denman Maroney, and Michelle Rosewoman; vocalists Theo Bleckman, Nicholas Horner, and Hank Roberts; violinist Mark Feldman, and the composers collective Joint Venture.  Current Haynes touring ensembles include his: romantic ‘jazz-grass’ string band, Free Country, featuring vocalist/cellist Hank Roberts;  definitive saxophone trio, No Fast Food, w/ NEA jazz master David Liebman; bluesy ‘power organ unit’, The Hammond Brothers, featuring young B-3 master Paul Bratcher, as well as the classic piano trio, Day Dream, a cooperative w/ Yamaha artist Steve Rudolph.  www.philhaynes.com
