About the artists:

Gavin Horning is a guitarist, arranger, composer, and educator originally from Elizabethtown in Lancaster County, PA.  He has performed with premier jazz artists Sean Jones, Steve Rudolph, the Mike Tomaro Sextet, and others.  Gavin is an active performer for the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz, an organization to which he credits much of his musical upbringing. Annually, he is a clinician and artist for the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz Camp at Messiah College.  Gavin is a 2017 graduate of Duquesne University and is currently completing a Graduate Performance Diploma on full scholarship at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University where he was awarded the Graduate Assistantship for Sean Jones and the Peabody Jazz Department. Gavin has studied with Joe Negri, Mark Koch, Kirk Reese, Mike Tomaro, and additional studies with Mike Stern. In 2019, Gavin joined the faculty at Messiah College as an Adjunct Professor in music.

Warren Wolf is a multi-instrumentalist from Baltimore, MD. From the young age of three years old, Warren has been trained on the Vibraphone/Marimba, Drums, and Piano. Warren attended the Peabody Prepatory studying classical music with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra member Leo LePage.. In ’97 Warren headed north and enrolled at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA studying with Dave Samuels.  After graduating from Berklee in May of 2001, Warren became an active musician on the Boston local scene. Warren was hired in September of 2003 to become an instructor in the percussion department at Berklee College of Music. After two years of teaching at Berklee College of Music, Warren moved back to Baltimore to pusue a full time performing musician career. Warren is currently tours and records with Tia Fuller, Bobby Watson, and Christian McBride. With these three groups Warren has traveled the world.   Warren has four recordings as a leader and recently signed to the Mack Avenue Recording label. He has played with or recorded with Wynton Marsalis and The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Jeremy Pelt and “Creation”, Nicholas Payton, Tim Warfield, Adonis Rose, Donal Fox, Anthony Wonsey, Aaron Goldberg, Cyrus Chestnut, Lewis Nash, Willie Jones, Eric Reed, Mulgrew Miller, Terri Lyne Carrington, Yoron Israel, Larry Willis, David “Fathead” Newman, Stefon Harris, Reuben Rogers, Kevin Eubanks, Curtis Lundy, Steve Davis, Duane Eubanks, Ron Carter, Wycliffe Gordon, Robert Glasper, Esperanza Spaulding and many others.

JJ Shakur is originally from Los Angeles CA and was born into a musical family.  His father, Gerald Wiggins, was a major jazz pianist and winner of the L.A. Music Award.  J.J. began playing professionally at age 10 and toured internationally with the Craig Hundley trio at age 12, appearing several times on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.  At age 17 he began touring with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and continues to perform with them today.  He also tours the world with Jamaican jazz pianist Monty Alexander and the trombonist Al Grey, among others. Wiggins also played on the soundtrack to the 1989 film, "The Fabulous Baker Boys."
