We’re excited to have Teen Town on stage in the Listening Room!
Teen Town, named after the jazz fusion tune of the 1970s, is a DownBeat Award-winning trio that brings its own creative voice to the jazz fusion genre. The group is led by bassist Gabriel Severn with Logan Bedard on drums and Connor Rohrer on keys. Nominated twice for the "Best Jazz Artist" award by the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame, they perform original compositions as well as unique covers that weave jazz, funk, rock, and world rhythms into tunes by luminaries such as the Average White Band, Weather Report, the Yellowjackets, and Chick Corea. They’ve been described as "a tribute to the golden era of fusion hitting the improvisational buffet at a dance party".
Teen Town has supported headliners like Sheila E., the Victor Wooten Trio, and the Tierney Sutton Band, and appeared at multiple festivals, including the Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest, the Dauphin County Wine & Jazz Festival, and the Scranton Jazz Festival. They’ve appeared on ABC TV and NPR radio, and their debut album of originals will be released in summer 2021.
