About the artists:

STEVE RUDOLPH – piano - Steve moved to Harrisburg in 1978 after a tour with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.  He was a founder of the Central PA Friends of Jazz in 1980, one of the country’s most successful jazz organizations to this day.  He served as pianist six nights a week at the Hilton Harrisburg’s “Bar” for 22 years featuring many great area and national artists weekly.  He has many recordings to his credit and his compositions and arrangements have been performed by the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.  Visit www.steverudolph.com for more information.

TOM STROHMAN – woodwinds - A graduate of Lebanon Valley College (B.S. in Music Education) and Towson University (M.M. in Jazz Studies), Tom is Professor Emeritus of Music at Lebanon Valley College, where he teaches Saxophone and Jazz Studies as an Adjunct Instructor. He was a founding member of the popular Central PA group Third Stream and currently plays with the Harrisburg Jazz Collective Big Band. Strohman has shared the stage with jazz legends Buddy DeFranco, Johnny Coles, Ira Sullivan, Phil Wilson, and Bobby Rosengarten, and performed for Al Martino, Sonny and Cher, Eddie Fisher, Della Reese, Patti Page, Johnny Mathis, and Clay Aiken, and recorded with Johnny Winter and Dan Hartman.

EDDIE SEVERN - trumpet – With a performing career spanning more than 25 years, British trumpeter Eddie Severn is notable in his ability to adapt to many musical styles. From his extensive work as a lead trumpet player in the commercial music world to his innovative performances as a soloist playing his own compositions, Eddie is equally at home playing rock, jazz and classical styles. Eddie has performed with many well-known musicians including Maria Schneider, Phil Woods Big Band, Dave Leibman Big Band, The Temptations, Kenny Rogers, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and the English Symphony Orchestra. In addition to being the former lead trumpet player with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra for 6 years, he has also performed and recorded music for television, radio and theatre, as well as on numerous pop sessions and touring shows. Severn composes music for his own groups and freelances as a solo performer and clinician, spending time both in Europe and the United States. As an educator, Severn has extensive experience teaching both jazz studies and trumpet. He has been on the faculty at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland, and the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music in England.

GABRIEL SEVERN – bass -  Jazz and fusion filled Gabriel Severn's ears from birth, and as a toddler, whether at music festivals or riding in the car, he'd call out “the bass! the bass!”. The moment he was shown a Jaco Pastorius video at age 2, he was hooked, and started bass lessons at 7. A few months later he learned to groove and perform when he joined a young Motown tribute band. He gained attention on social media at age 11, with a viral video playing Jaco's demanding bass solo in the Weather Report tune, "Havona". His “Havona” video was followed by many more videos showcasing his musicianship and diverse skills. He became the first Markbass Rising Star, joined the Ernie Ball Music Man family of artists, and developed a custom line of bass strings made by Carlos Pavicich in France. He is also an endorsing artist for the Paul Lairat fretless Stega and 6-string Stega basses, Singular Sound, Advanced Audio, Soundbrenner, and ErgoStraps. Just after his 12th birthday he formed the jazz fusion trio, Teen Town. The trio received a 2019 DownBeat Student Music Award and the 2020 "Best Jazz Band" Award from the Central PA Music Hall of Fame. They've toured throughout Pennsylvania and have opened for a number of major artists, including Sheila E., the Victor Wooten Trio, the Tierney Sutton Band, and the Original Drifters. Teen Town's debut album will be released in 2022. As a soloist, Severn appeared with Doug Wimbish (of Living Colour) at the 2019 Philadelphia WimBash, as a guest artist at the 2019 and 2020 Detroit BASSDAY, and as a guest performer at the 2019 Elkhart Jazz Festival. He's also performed at several NAMM Shows in LA. Gabriel has won multiple DownBeat Awards, a YoungArts Award, The Joe Zawinul "Z" Award, and Jazz Education Network Awards. Severn's list of teachers and mentors include several of his bass icons, such as Victor Wooten, Anthony Wellington and Adam Nitti. He’s had the honor of receiving scholarships from the Jazz Education Network, and to Wooten’s Bass/Nature Camp, the Berklee College of Music’s Groove School, the Hudson Jazz Workshop, and the Central PA Jazz Camp.

LOGAN BEDARD – drums - A talented drummer, Logan has been playing professionally since age 13. He went to Mechanisburg High School and attended the Central PA Friends of Jazz Camps and was a member of the CPFJ Youth Band for many years. He is a member of Teen Town, winners of the Central PA Music Hall of Fame awards. Since their debut in 2017 they've taken the stage at the Elkhart Jazz Festival, Berks Jazz Festival, Dauphin County Wine & Jazz Festival Scranton Jazz Festival, Christmas City Summer Jazz Festival, TEDx Harrisburg, Harrisburg ArtsFest, Dauphin County Cultural Fest, Mt. Gretna Heritage Festival, Central PA Jazz Fest, People's Choice Festival, Millennium Music Conference, the Pride of the Susquehanna, River City Blues Club, Central PA Jazz Camp, and the Lock Haven Jazz and Arts festival.
