Solo Show with Michael Banks

  • 1219 Research Boulevard Hummelstown, PA, 17036 (map)

Live music at the Englewood in the Listening Room with Michael Banks.

A central Pennsylvania native, Michael Banks has earned his reputation as one of the region's premier musicians over the course of his thirty year career. His unique fusion of folk, jazz and blues elements comes to life in performances that feature enchanting instrumental pieces, rich vocals and dazzling guitar work. Michael's accomplished song writing has its roots in a background of history and diverse musical influences, creating a broad palette of material: from 19th century folk tunes and ethereal melodies to fiery Latin progressions and swing numbers -resulting in a comfortable and engaging balance for audiences and musicians alike.

Michael is an integral part of the Capital Region's art community—as a solo performer and member of Flying Colors, The Dirty Sweet, and Crippled But Free; and as long-time sound designer for Harrisburg Shakespeare Company. He has performed in Pennsylvania's State Capitol and William Penn Museum and countless other regional venues, he has been a staple in Harrisburg's City Concerts, and has shared the stage with The Neville Brothers, Todd Rundgren, Jorma Kaukonen, Roseanne Cash, and Michael Hedges, to name a few.

In his spare time, Michael offers private instruction, works in stage sound and lighting, and enjoys cooking, woodworking, camping, and board games.

Grab a seat in the Listening Room. No need for reservations, this show is first-come, first-seated.
