The band originated as the classic rock band “Mauve Band” in the Fall of 2016 as a 7-month performance class growing out the Clair Brothers Music Business Technology program at Millersville University. The band jelled instantly, and played their first prestigious show in 2017, opening for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts at the University's sold-out event. Being a college course, the band disbanded shortly after the event. Reformed in the Fall of 2018, the band was renamed MauveStröm, incorporating lead guitarist Lauren Hill, as well as original bassist, Luke Leonard. Sensational vocal lines come with new members, Millersville alumni Colin DiLucido and Michaela Burns, along with current student Elaina Hatton. Holding down the rhythm is alum Steve Sammartino on Drums/Percussion and Millersville Professor Barry Atticks on Keytar and Synths completes the group. They were named best collegiate band 2020 by the Central PA Music Hall of Fame.
