We’re welcoming the popular Harrisburg Jazz Collective (formerly River City Big Band) to the stage one Sunday every month! Singer Cathy Chemi will be joining this show.
The Harrisburg Jazz Collective Big Band (formerly the River City Big Band) was formed in October of 2014 by pianist Steve Rudolph & trumpeter Bill Perbetsky. The ensemble is a classic 16 piece jazz orchestra (4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxes, piano, bass and drums) that performed every 3rd Monday for 7 years at River City Blues Cub in Harrisburg, PA. The musicians are all exceptional players from Central PA and beyond, and the music includes many tunes from the classic big band repertoire – Buddy Rich, Thad Jones, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton and more, plus original compositions and arrangements from our members and friends. The response to the group has been phenomenal and we look forward to continuing the creative big band tradition for many years to come in our new home at the Englewood. We will be performing one Sunday a month and present Holiday concerts and special events with guest artists in their fabulous Listening Room.
Table seating available. Seats are general admission, and not guaranteed. You may be seated with other guests.
Food will be available during the shows and can be ordered at the bar.
Tickets are $12 in advance. $15 at the door (cash only).
All proceeds support the band.
